Following the procedure, a special compression garment is worn over the arms to control swelling and to help your skin shrink and heal to fit your new contour.
Your arms may be stiff and sore for a few days, and you may experience some pain, burning, swelling, bleeding or temporary numbness. If necessary, your doctor will prescribe medication to relieve this initial discomfort.
Most of the bruising and swelling should subside within three weeks. The compression bands must be worn for several weeks to hold your arms in their new shape until the tissues have adjusted.
